It is a dedicated training area equipped to meet the needs of everyone and is over seen by expert coaches and qualified personnel. It has close ties with our performance gym and overlaps nicely with some of their programming.

Membership is to be limited. Why, as a controlled environment, it is key to the proper management structure required for keeping users motivated and challenged. You won’t face overcrowded and dysfunctional equipment as good management will ensure that you can train comfortably and stay focused on your goal. Your body is unique, so your training should be too. From one-on-one with a trainer, to weight management/nutrition coaching, group training and multiple classes, we’ll help you find something challenging for you.

Here all new clients book in for an initial assessment and needs analysis. Each assessment, whether it is a nutrition and lifestyle questionnaire, a body fat composition test or a mobility test, will be completed with your coach. With all this information, we will design a programme catered towards the individual’s needs and ability which will help challenge realistic goals. The importance of finding someone to be accountable to and participating in activities that you enjoy are huge success factors when developing a lifestyle change.

Our Coaches

Our Strength & Conditioning coaches have a wealth of experience associated with all levels of fitness and training. Our experts will challenge your current level of fitness, whilst evaluating your functional competence to perform exercise selection and movement control. All coaches are screened and appropriately educated and accredited to current standard practices.

Losing weight is not easy and don’t let anyone tell you it is. At GymTown we challenge you daily to reach targets that are set for you. It’s not about a regime, it’s a sensible approach to exercise and lifestyle habits that need to be adjusted. A broader vision is required to change the negative approach and habits that most possess towards exercise, training and eating. When you sign up to train at GymTown you acknowledge the fact that strength, fitness and a fitness goal greater than just ‘looking good’ will result in a more peaceful state of mind and ultimately a better functioning body, which by its very nature will take on an aesthetically pleasing form. You will also find that personal hurdles that once seemed insurmountable become far more manageable, as you get used to overcoming challenges and realising that you do have a degree of control of your body and beyond it, your life.

The two-week gym orientation will consist of:

• individual needs, goals and timeline analysis

• initial measurements and basic movement assessment

• a range of mobility tests appropriate to individual needs

• discussing and working through corrective exercises

• developing compound movements (such as squat, bench press and deadlift technique)

Our private trainers specialise in teaching practices that will improve your overall health and lead you towards a more sustainable life. They are with you step for step and rep for rep.

Pilates

We feel your burn. Build your core and lengthen your body with Pilates, a complete full body workout that builds strength without bulk, improves flexibility and agility, and helps to prevent injury. Sessions are available in our spacious, fully equipped Pilates studio.

Fitness Classes

Experience our wide variety of innovative classes designed to fit every schedule and need. We offer everything from strength, sculpting and conditioning to Olympic Lifting Programs, Rip60 and several styles unique to GYMTOWN such as the Gauntlet. Our class schedules are designed to include both the latest fitness trends and methods for getting results in a fun, energising atmosphere.

Challenge yourself. Our Keiser cycle classes are equipped with the latest in heart rate technology, ensuring a challenging and invigorating ride from beginning to end.

Physical Therapy

Examine, Evaluate, Diagnose, Treat.

Recovery is important. Time in the game is what counts. Injured or sore, try out our Alter-G treadmill, and avail of the physiotherapy services. 

Adult Strength

Everyone benefits from Strength training and here it overlaps nicely with our performance students where they look to improve functionality in day to day life, sport or prevent weight gain. Lifting weights two or three times a week improves bone density. You will look and feel healthier, whilst being Motivated by excellent results.  More importantly you will enjoy the classes.

Strength training for Adults will consist of:

• individual needs analysis (toning, strength gain, weight loss or improved athletic performance)

• teaching the correct technique

• teaching to train with weight efficiently and effectively

• understanding why you should be training this way
